Portrait Of Catherine Murray, Countess Of Dysart (d. 1649)

41 1/4 by 33 1/4 in. (107.5 by 84.5 cm.)

Catherine Bruce, Mrs. William Murray (d.1649), half-length. Stylistically datable to the mid 1630’s, probably 1636. There are versions after this portrait at Ham House, and at Welbeck Abbey, described in 1894 as of Dorothy Sidney, Countess of Sunderland.
