Louis XV Style Ormolu-Mounted Tulipwood Cabinet
37 1/2 in. high, 68 1/4 in wide, 24 in. deep

After the artist. Based on the famous kingwood medal cabinet supplied by the Royal cabinet-maker Antoine-Robert Gaudreaux (1682-1746) on January 10, 1739 for the Cabinet Interieur of Louis XV at Versailles. It remains on display today.

With a serpentine moulded Rouge Royal marble top above a conforming case fitted with two doors at an applied overall with trailing foliate vines suspending medallions, on massive ormolu cabriole legs with scroll feet headed by ram’s masks.
