1880 music box.

1880 music box. It is a “Columbia” Sublime Harmonie Quatuor cylinder musical box by E. Paillard and Co, Ste. Croix. It contains four grand format cylinders playing six airs each, crank-wind double-spring motor with instant stop, speed control, tune selector and tune indicator, zither attachment, nickel-plated and gilt fittings, colored title card in lid. It has a walnut case in Renaissance style with blind-fretted panels. There is a carved convex frieze rail to the table incorporating drawer with fall-front and sliding cylinder-rack with slots for six cylinders, on turned and carved legs joined by central stretcher. There is a tag attached to the music box with writing in French. Total width is 52 ˝ inches( 133.3 centimeters). The size of the cylinders is 20 by 3 1/18( 50.9 by 8 centimeters). The height of the music box with the table is 38 ˝ ( 97.9 centimeters). The length of the table is 51 inches and width 29 inches ( 129.5 by 73.8 centimeters)
